Hybrid bikes, also known as Trekking bikes are perfect for longer range bike commuting, or for simply being able to commute at a faster speed than on a regular town or city bike. Some call these bicycles Hybrids because of the wheel size, which is 700c - the same diameter as a road bike tire. They are the same diameter, but are wider than a race tire, so that these wheels can handle a variety of terrain. The larger wheel radius allows you to cover more distance with each rotation of the pedal and easily handle bumpy roads. The riding position is comfortably upright, allowing you to keep a close eye on traffic and your surroundings.
