They are the same diameter, but are wider than a race tire, so that these wheels can handle a variety of terrain. The larger wheel radius allows you to cover more distance with each rotation of the pedal and easily handle bumpy roads. The riding position is comfortably upright, allowing you to keep a close eye on traffic and your surroundings.
