Product Description

Kestrel Pro Bicycle Torque Wrench - Ideal Torque Range, 2-16Nm (17,7-141,6 inch-pound)

The Kestrel Pro Torque wrench features the best torque range for for precision bicycle applications and 'sensitive' components. Engraved with the Kestrel Logo.

Made in Italy by Effetto Mariposa. The torque wrench features a range of 2-16nm torque settings and includes 17 attachments. 2 Nm is good for small aluminum screws, 16 Nm is enough for big M6 bolts used in some seatposts. A wider scale wouldn't allow the same precision at the range extremes.

Benefits of a Torque Wrench:

A torque wrench is an extremely important tool when working on high-end bikes, especially those that are carbon fiber. If you create too much torque, you can actually crack the frame or cause other damage. With a torque wrench, you can prevent this from happening by setting the torque to the exact manufacturer specifications.

Without a torque wrench, you never really know if you have the nut or bolt tightened with the correct clamping force. Without this, you may apply too much,or too little tension. Depending on your own personal strength, what feels loose to you may feel tight to someone else and vice versus.

The benefit of the torque wrench is that there is no guessing when it comes to the tension. You will always know you are at the propper level. The Kestrel Bicycles are high-performance bikes and they ride the best when assembled properly. The torque wrench will aid greatly in ensuring your bike is in tip-top shape.

Extremely User-Friendly

  • Set the maximum torque rotating the handle terminal, reading the torque on the tool-window (graduate scale with 0,5 Nm increments)
  • Insert the appropriate bit (depending on the bolt you need to tighten)
  • Using the tool, a loud 'CLICK' and a 3 degree free-movement tells when the torque has been reached

Ready to Use with 16 bits Included:

16 bits (standard 1/4" inch size fitting) are provided with the key, allowing you to use the torque-wrench on almost any screw present on modern bicycles. A 70mm long '5' hex bit allows you to tighten a road-brake lever's recessed bolt. All bits are manufactured from S2 special steel, with very high (62 Hrc) surface hardness, to ensure maximum durability.

Minimalistic head to reach "difficult" bolts:

Giustaforza's simple, 'non-ratcheting' head is a feature and not a bug: thanks to its small size, it can be used on bolts that are simply impossible to tighten with ratcheting-head torque wrenches (the bigger ratcheting head will interfere with the seatpost shaft, in this case)

Lightweight & Strong:

The light aluminum body keeps the weight down to a record-breaking 169g per key, which is less than half the weight of heavy industrial wrenches often used for bicycles. This is paramount to get the right torquing sensitiveness at low torque values, without mistaking the effort to hold the tool with the applied torque. Adjustment knob and bit-holder are made out of steel, to better stand daily use.

Professional Precision:

The torque tolerance is +- 4%

State-of-the art tool, Made in Italy:

Functional, linear in design and precise in every detail. It should not be a surprise to know that Giustaforza 2-16Nm has been conceived and produced in Italy. The tool is hard-anodized with laser-etched inscriptions, and it's built to last. Each sample is checked and numbered as a single masterpiece.

Easy and safe to carry:

Comes in a Kestrel labeled safety case that protects the tool from shocks and keeps the overall size down to 17x4x4 cm.

Resists both low and high temperatures:
